Indian Coffee Beans
Although India is often better associated with growing tea, it is home to some hidden gems. India is, in fact, one of the world’s largest coffee-growing regions and southern India has a diverse climate which makes it perfect for growing coffee beans. It is one of the only countries to grow coffee entirely under the shade and the beans are packed with flavour, enriched with nutrient-dense soil. Packed with intense flavours, Indian coffee is rich and sweet with some subtle spicy notes. Whether it is sweet and chocolatey or rich and acidic, our coffee is packed full of flavour which will leave you wanting more.
The Patre family have been the custodians of the Ratnagiri Estate in Bababudangiri for three generations. Baba Budan introduced coffee culture into the region in the 16th century and the mountain range was later named after him. It is grown at the top of Ratnagiri, or the Pearl Mountain, under a canopy of shade. It is a biodiverse farm that also has an official Rainforest Alliance certification. Bursting with rich flavours, coffee from this region often has a deep, rich, chocolatey taste. The flavour profile of brown sugar, hazelnut and milk chocolate from Kiss From a Roast make this coffee a firm customer favourite, and we’re looking forward to continuing to roast this coffee for years to come.
