You’ve already gone through the trial and error of finding your favourite coffee. Now it’s time to find the right machine for your favourite filter brews and pour-overs. We’ll explain all of the calibrations and customisations you can make with the Sage Precision Brewer

How many cups can the Sage Precision Brewer make?

Most regular filter coffee machines tend to only hold eight cups or less. But the Precision Brewer was designed with proper coffee lovers in mind.

It’s the filter coffee machine that does the most. Catering to family get-togethers or fueling whole office teams, you can brew up to twelve cups of joe at any one time with the Sage Precision Brewer.

You’ll get to know exactly how much coffee to brew every day. It’s the perfect filter coffee machine for those who love to return again and again, keeping you topped up with caffeinated goodness throughout the day.

For more personalised brews, you can also make single cups of drip coffee using your own Kalita or Hario V60 with Sage’s adaptor kit (sold separately).

Getting the temperature of the Sage Precision Brewer right

There’s a significant lack of adjustability in other drip coffee or filter machines on the market that can let them down. With the Sage Precision Brewer, you have more opportunities to change the temperature and contact time for precise control.

Brewing with hot water will make your coffee taste full-bodied, whereas cooler temperatures will make for a lighter brew. Going too cold will make your coffee taste underdeveloped and too hot will give it that ‘burnt’ taste. So, by playing with your brew temperature settings, you can find the right temp to hit the spot.

The Thermocoil heating system with PID Control creates great-tasting coffee with precise digital control of temperature, flow rate, and contact time. It offers precision far greater than a traditional horseshoe-shaped element system.

The best part is you can choose from the five presets or create your own specific preset with My Brew for the exact taste you’re looking for.

Making it all about you: My Brew settings

The My Brew setting allows you to customise any of the parameters for making your coffee. That’s precise control of bloom time, brew temps and flow rate to suit your favourite coffee beans. Be it floral, fruity, or chocolatey.

Adjustable bloom time allows you to create the perfect bloom time to suit your beans. Once the natural gases are released and you get that coffee aroma, the remaining water is delivered to the grind to complete the brew. You can also choose from three different flow rates to optimise contact time, Slow, Medium and Fast.

Depending on your taste, you can optimise the contact time of your craft filter coffee by choosing from Slow, Medium or Fast options. The Slow flow rate will offer a bolder-tasting cup, whereas the faster settings result in a lighter-tasting brew.

If calibrating your own specific brew is too much and you’re looking for a trustworthy answer to the brew you want, check out Sage’s presets that know exactly what you’re looking for.

Fresh coffee presets that just get it

The Sage Precision Brewer Thermal does the work so you don’t have to! There are six built-in presets for fresh coffee at your fingertips. Create that perfect Gold Cup, ready-to-go Fast brew, a much-needed Strong sipper or cool off with the Iced coffee and Cold Brew options.

The Gold Cup standard

We all know the Gold Cup standard is a tried and true formula. As determined by the Specialty Coffee Association, the perfect filtered brew should be between 11.5 and 13.5 grams of coffee per litre of water. And they really know their stuff! We’ve tested it across all of our roast variations to make sure we’re offering the best cup every time.

Coffee on the go

The Fast function is for those on the go. This is the fastest way to brew your favourite black coffee in a hurry. You’ll get the best quality filter coffee at the touch of a button, without compromising on taste.

Extra strength

If you’re looking for something stronger in the morning, the Strong brew setting is where it’s at. With higher temperatures and lots more contact time, you can get a bolder brew. For an even stronger black coffee, increase the coffee grounds in your brew basket for an extra zing.

Iced coffee done right

With Sage’s innovative iced coffee setting, this brewing mode will concentrate the flavour so you don’t miss out on your favourite bean profiles as the summer sun melts away the ice.

Cold brew mode

For cold brew fanatics, you’ll be used to the long waiting time for your favourite cup. With the Cold Brew setting, you can add your ground coffee, set and forget. Then return for a brew that’s ready to soothe the soul.

There’s a brewing mode for everyone but if you’re more of a coffee connoisseur and looking to get crafty with your own calibrations, then the custom My Brew setting is the one for you!

Added benefits of the Sage Precision Brewer that make life easier

The Sage Precision Brewer set-up is made easy by the digital display, allowing you to brew the exact volume you need every time. An additional benefit is a timer which lets you know how long ago the current batch was brewed.

The thermos is great for keeping your batch hot and means there are no glass breakages too. It’ll hold temperatures well for around three hours, great for those who love to come back for more or entertain the family at once.

If you’re the kind of person who gets up and goes, or who has to creep out of the house long before everyone else is up, you’ll love the scheduling function. Pre-grind your coffee the night before (yes, even we’ve been known to do this on occasion), and then set it to begin as you wake up. Early, dark mornings are just made better by having awesome coffee ready to go.
