Nicaraguan coffee beans are known for their natural, well-balanced flavours and medium body. They have a mild flavour profile with low acidity and a good balance of bitter and sweet notes. You can expect to find chocolate, hints of caramel and bright citrus acidity with a touch of fruitiness and plenty of flavour.
Nicaragua has been producing coffee for almost 200 years. It is primarily grown in a small, northern area of the country in five main regions. The country mostly produces arabica beans with coffee-growing regions including Esteli, Jinotega, Madriz, Matagalpa, and Nueva Segovia. Coffee bean production thrives in Nicaragua at 1,097 to 1,585 metres above sea level. Not only that but Nicaragua is blessed with rich volcanic soils, humid temperatures and tropical climates.

We only roast Arabica coffee beans because they’re the best, so you won’t find any Robusta or dark roast coffee beans at Neighbourhood Coffee.
