In Tzeltal culture, this coffee is known as Bankilal, translating to ‘older brother’ which is a figure of leadership and protection. This coffee is the gold standard of a traditional washed Chiapas coffee, offering reliable, bold and comforting notes.
In the highlands of Los Altos, agriculture remains a vital link to the past through the preservation of traditional polycultures. During the 2025 harvest, our partners paid these farmers up to 38% above local market prices.
