Aeropress - where it started

The Aeropress. It all started with Alan Adler. Frustrated by the lacklustre brewing options on the market, the inventor (who clearly had a caffeine fuelled spark of genius) set out to build a better way to brew. What began as a personal project spiraled into a global phenomenon, spawning a whole family of AeroPress models for every type of coffee lover.

So why the Aeropress go?

If you’re the type who spends weekends conquering hiking trails, camping under the stars, or simply wandering through the countryside, the AeroPress Go is your new best friend. Here is why it’s a game-changer for the great outdoors:

  • 3-in-1 Versatility: It combines the best of immersion, aeration, and pressure to deliver a smooth, rich cup every time.

  • Compact Design: Everything, including the stirrer and filters tuck neatly inside its own travel mug.

  • Specialty Quality Anywhere: You don’t have to sacrifice flavour just because you’re off the grid; it brings the café experience to the campfire.

Whether you’re halfway up a mountain or just in your backyard, it’s the ultimate proof that great coffee and creativity go hand-in-hand.

How do I use an Aeropress?

  1. Grind 15g of coffee beans into a medium/fine consistency
  2. Heat 200ml of water to 97°C, (if you only have access to a kettle boil your water and leave for around 2 minutes to cool.
  3. Assemble the Aeropress – Pull plunger from chamber and leave to the side. Unscrew the cap, place in one filter paper and rinse with warm water to remove the papery taste
  4. Screw cap back onto the Aeropress and place over your chosen cup.
  5. Add 15g of ground coffee into the Aeropress and shake gently to level.
  6. Pour over 200g of water (if you have no scales fill to the 3 marker.)
  7. Use a stirrer to agitate the coffee for 3 seconds and then place the plunder a 1/2 inch into the chamber and pull up slightly to create a vacuum
  8. Leave the coffee for 1 minute
  9. Push down on the plunger, using consistent pressure, until all the coffee has left the chamber.
